Silkie
These fluffy chickens are cute! They have the “awwwww” factor, so if you are looking for a pet chicken, get yourself a Silkie. These bantam chickens are gentle, quieter than most, docile and like people. They don’t fly well, and they don’t mind being confined. Their feathers are described as “soft,” “downy,” and “fur-like”. They come in many different colors and are one of the most popular breeds for exhibition. They are not considered good layers as they tend to be broody, wanting to set on the bantam silkie chicken eggs instead. Their skin, bones, and meat are bluish-black and they have 5 toes. Silkies are kept as pets, some breeders also keep them because they are exceptionally broody and good mothers. A Silkie will hatch just about any other kind of egg and will mother the chicks. Because they are so docile and good-natured, they sometimes suffer bullying by more aggressive breeds when kept in mixed flocks.

On standard breeds this procedure is about 90% accurate. This a means that you have a 10% chance of getting a rooster. If you ABSOLUTELY can not own a rooster, please purchase breeds which are sexed much more accurately. Sex links and auto-sexing breeds are sexed with a 99% success rate. This means your chance of getting a rooster is extremely rare. While we do our very best to sell properly sexed birds, please understand the difficulty in this task. We can not take back roosters that you can not keep.
Health Guarantee
We hand raise all of our chicks in the best conditions possible. They are fed quality feed from the very first day and provided fresh clean water. Their room temperature is precisely monitored and they are socialized as much as possible. Please understand that when purchasing baby chicks up to 4 weeks old, there is always a possibility of sudden loss. They require more care and closer monitoring then older birds. If you would prefer to avoid this possible situation, please purchase chicks at least 4 weeks old. Due to precise conditions needed to properly raise chicks, we do not guarantee the survival of baby chicks once they leave our farm. We do not offer free replacements. Vaccinations
All 2025 chicks will be vaccinated for Mareks Disease. Chicks should be fed medicated chick starter starter to prevent coccidosis.
